Sound Space Recordings

A Sound Space is any place where the sound of the music enhances the experience of being in that place. It can be because of its acoustics, natural beauty, or even because of its importance to the local culture. This is simply the act of returning the importance of space to music that has been lost over the last many years.

We will travel to these places with latest generation digital recording equipment powered by solar powered batteries and make recordings of musical performances. The recordings will then be available by download from our website, or in certain situations in CD format. The benefits from these downloads and CD sales will go directly as donations to environmental or cultural survival projects that Wapapura is associated with. Essentially, in exchange for making a donation to these environmental projects we offer you music.

With these events we also hope to offer the chance to musicians to record live music in places where they normally would not be playing or recording. Places where they can create a relationship with the space and feel comfortable to express themselves freely and fully.

Here we will also have an opportunity to offer the chance to local musicians in the areas where we are recording to record. Musicians who would not usually have the chance to get a recording of themselves, especially right there, where they live and where their music comes naturally.

This is simply about sustainably enjoying and sharing Live Music in Living Places and supporting good causes while we are at it.
